Ct Gives Back: The Bridge Of Lubbock

Here at Carpet Tech we love what we do, we love our customers, and we truly love the community we live in. This is why Carpet Tech makes it a priority to “give back” to our community in a variety of ways. Our employees volunteer their time, skills, and creative insights to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of others around us.

This month, we’d like to highlight a Carpet Tech Gives Back partnership with The Bridge of Lubbock, an important organization in our community.

THE BRIDGE OF LUBBOCK

Starting simply as an idea on paper in 1997, The Bridge of Lubbock has grown into a multi-faceted 501(c)(3) dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk families in the Lubbock area. After founder Gary Scroggins was able to put his plan into motion, this organization began to grow in affiliates, offered programs, and even a donated building that The Bridge could call home.

The dedication, faith, and passion of this organization is easy to see in all of the programs it offers to area families in need. Their actions truly reflect The Bridge of Lubbock’s mission and vision, which is:

“The mission of The Bridge of Lubbock is to be the hands and feet of Jesus by restoring hope through empowering at-risk teens and their families in East Lubbock.

The vision is to see Jesus brought, hope restored, and generations empowered in East Lubbock and impoverished communities across the nation.”

SUMMER CAMPS

The Bridge of Lubbock offers free summer camp to area kids grades 1st-12th. This camp includes transportation to and from camp, as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The camps are fun and informative, and offer workshops in life skills and Biblical leadership.

TAMMIE’S CLOSET

Named after one extremely dedicated volunteer, Tammie’s Closet is the free clothing outreach provided at The Bridge of Lubbock. The outreach provides free clothing to families in need and accepts all donations, excluding large furniture items. If you have gently used clothes to donate, please consider sending them to Tammie’s Closet!

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Reaching Our Kids is a program designed to help local at-risk students achieve academic success through homework assistance. ROK also offers activities to promote physical health and well being, as well as spiritual and Biblical guidance through devotionals, worship, and arts and crafts.

Bridge 2 Success is another popular program at The Bridge of Lubbock designed for at-risk youth in middle school and high school. In B2K, students are empowered for future success through offerings like homework assistance, mentoring, college preparation, recreational activities, devotionals, and meals.

CARPET TECH GIVE BACK

We’re doing our part this August to help The Bridge of Lubbock during the back-to-school season. With expenses like school supplies and new clothes for the upcoming school year, these months can be a financially difficult time for many. This is why we’re thrilled to provide a monetary donation this August to The Bridge of Lubbock to help purchase school uniforms for children whose families cannot afford them.

At Carpet Tech we believe in community, education, and a safe environment for all. The Bridge of Lubbock is a valuable organization in our community, and we are proud to support them.
